We started the MFA portfolio on this premise: if we invest small amounts of money into durable assets that don’t make us retch with their vileness (i.e., we avoid most of the entire financial-services world and its typical slate of retirement offerings) and we pretty much leave them alone for a long time, we will have a decent little pile of money to support us in our old age.
How’s that working out for us?
